Alvin Bragg briefly spoke to the press following Donald J. Trump’s arrest and arraignment on Tuesday. Bragg answered a few questions and hid behind legal reasoning as to why he did not have to provide answers.
In his opening remarks, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said, “We cannot, and will not normalize serious criminal conduct. The defendant repeatedly made false statements on New York Business records.”
Twitter users mocked Bragg for his opening remarks. Users pointed out New York’s soaring crime statistics.

Bragg accused Trump of “suppressing negative information to help his chances of winning the 2016 election.” The negative information Bragg referred to is Michael Cohen’s payment to Stormy Daniels. A letter from the office of Stormy Daniels states Trump never had an affair with her.
Also, earlier on Tuesday, Donald Trump Jr tweeted, “BREAKING!!! the 9th Circuit just awarded Trump $121,962.56 in attorney fees from Stormy Daniels. Order just released. This in addition to the roughly $500k she already owes him. LOL glad she’s out there saying her T-shirt sales are booming she’ll be able to afford to pay Trump!”

One of the more telling moments of Bragg’s press conference came when Bragg was asked by a reporter, “The indictment says there were 34 false business indictments to conceal another crime, but the indictment does not specifically state what those crimes were. We are assuming perhaps that they may be election-related. I am wondering if you may specify what laws were broken.”
Bragg responded, “Let me say this the indictment does not specify because the law does not so require.”

Following Bragg’s press conference, Donald Trump wrote on TruthSocial, “Alvin Bragg shut down New York City, brought in 38,000 NYPD officers, and will spend an estimated $200,000,000 of NYC funds, for a totally legal $130,000 NDA. On top of all that, the 9th Circuit Court just awarded me $122,000 — over the $500,000 already awarded, from Stormy “Horseface” Daniels!”
Trump wrote these remarks on Trump Force One on his way back to Florida. Trump is expected to speak at 8:15 pm on Tuesday.
