A new poll by Yahoo and YouGov showed that nearly six in 10 Republicans and Republican-leaning independents now say they will not vote in upcoming elections for any candidate who claims that Joe Biden won the election “fair and square.”
Due to significant evidence of fraud and voting irregularities in the 2020 presidential contest against Donald Trump, nearly six in 10 Republicans and Republican-leaning independents now say they will not vote in upcoming elections for any candidate who claims that Joe Biden won “fair and square.”
The poll found that a measly 17% say that they would consider voting for a candidate who claims that Biden’s victory was legitimate.
More than 74% of Trump voters believe that Biden cheated his way into the White House, thus solidifying election integrity as one of the top concerns for Republican voters heading into the 2022 midterm elections.
Former President Trump has made it clear that fighting to crack down on the evidence of fraud that occurred during the 2020 election is paramount to securing his endorsement, as he is currently backing Republican primary candidates against certain RINO state officials who had turned the other cheek, or had outright subverted election integrity efforts during 2020 election overtime.
The poll data also helps explain why popular Republicans, such as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, have ramped up efforts to protect American elections from election crimes with special police units tasked with finding fraud, as well as prosecuting those who violate state election laws.
“The way Florida did it, I think, inspired confidence,” DeSantis said immediately after the 2020 election. “That’s how elections should be run.”
The survey also found that when Republicans and Republican-leaning independents were asked which issue they want future candidates to focus on the most, they said “stopping Democrats from rigging and stealing elections” is statistically as important as “bringing down inflation.”
In rank order from most important to the least, Republican and Republican-leaning independents believe that these are the most pressing issues that Republican candidates must address if they are to potentially receive their vote:
- “Securing the border”: 23%
- “Bringing down inflation”: 19%
- “Stopping Democrats from rigging and stealing elections”: 17%
- “Ending COVID restrictions”: 10%
- “Fighting crime”: 8%
- “Outlawing abortion”: 5%
- “Cutting taxes”: 5%
- “Appointing Supreme Court justices”: 2%
- “Giving parents more controls over schools”: 2%
Further, 56% of Republicans say they want the Republican Party to investigate the 2020 Presidential Election.
To a majority of Republican voters, a candidate receiving an endorsement by the former President outweighs the same from “other Republican leaders,” signifying that former President Trump clearly maintains his role as the gatekeeper of Republican politics.
By comparison, Joe Biden’s approval ratings continue to plummet. According to the poll, a strong majority of Americans disapprove with how he’s handling his presidency.
Other polls, such as the Quinnipiac University poll conducted in mid-January, have shown Biden’s approval in the eyes of Americans dropping as low as 33%, down slightly from 36% in November 2021.
Thus far, Biden’s first term in office has consisted of so much failure and crises that the White House recommended that Americans drink alcohol if they are upset about it.
