Mike Johnson of Louisiana won a conference vote to become Republican speaker-designate with 128 votes and with Kevin McCarthy picking up 43 votes in a sneaky McCarthy comeback ploy that we at NATIONAL FILE have seen coming. While some conservatives are coalescing around Trump-allied Mike Johnson, it should be noted that Mike Johnson pledged his support to Israel in his nomination speech and he has praised Volodymyr Zelensky in the past.
“President Zelenskyy presented to us a moving address in a rare joint session of Congress this morning. America stands with Ukraine,” Mike Johnson stated in 2022.
Johnson has also criticized Ukraine funding. So where does he really stand?
“We should not be sending another $40 billion abroad when our own border is in chaos, American mothers are struggling to find baby formula, gas prices are at record highs, and American families are struggling to make ends meet, without sufficient oversight over where the money will go,” Mike Johnson stated previously.
If Mike Johnson signs off on Joe Biden’s $105 billion war bill or any other massive spending bill to fund Ukraine and Israel, then he will be contributing to the advancement of the war machine at a time of unprecedented bellicosity and corruption from the military-industrial complex that ensnares America in its tentacles. Hopefully, Congressman Matt Gaetz of Florida and the Gaetz Caucus can ensure that America does NOT get into a World War 3 scenario. Gaetz has a big national fanbase. Johnson largely does not. Gaetz still has the leverage. Will Peace Prevail?
