Roger Stone, an ally of President Trump, has been sentenced to 40 months in prison for allegedly lying to Congress, obstruction, and witness tampering.
The sentence, which adds up to just over 3 years in prison for Roger Stone, was a reduction from the original recommendation of 7-9 years that the prosecution team pushed for.
The Department of Justice and President Trump were both shocked at this decision – the DOJ recommended the lower sentenced that was eventually handed to Stone today, which caused 3 of the 4 prosecutors on the team to resign.
Before the sentencing was handed out today, the President noted that even if Stone had lied to Congress, why aren’t many deep state swamp creatures, like Clinton, Comey, and McCabe, being investigated for the same thing?
“They say Roger Stone lied to Congress.” @CNN OH, I see, but so did Comey (and he also leaked classified information, for which almost everyone, other than Crooked Hillary Clinton, goes to jail for a long time), and so did Andy McCabe, who also lied to the FBI! FAIRNESS?

Stone has also maintained his conviction was political, and he has good reason to believe that. The lead foreperson of his jury, Tomeka Hart, tweeted anti-Trump comments and lied when she was selected for the case, claiming to not be a political individual.
Judge Amy Berman Jackson has been accused of ignoring the concerns of Stone’s defense team about the bias in the jury.
