Biden's Migrant Madness Faces Bad Polling, Outrage From Republicans

The Joe Biden administration’s decision to allow migrants with active asylum cases (about 25,000 migrants) into the United States over the Mexican border is heightening tensions in the U.S. and re-focusing national debate on the issue of immigration.

In the aftermath of President Donald Trump’s first term in office, some Republicans are now actually showing a spine and opposing Biden on the issue, which is smart politics. National polling is exposing Biden’s political vulnerability on the issue of migration.

“This latest action is another step in our commitment to reform immigration policies that do not align with our nation’s values,” stated Alejandro Mayorkas, the globalist Department of Homeland Security Secretary. Biden has also cancelled President Trump’s brilliantly designed national emergency declaration from 2019 for construction of the Trump border wall and vowed to forever cancel funding for wall building.

The mainstream Morning Consult poll found that 48 percent of the American people are AGAINST Biden increasing the cap on migrants entering the U.S. from 15,000 to 125,000 in this next fiscal year, as allowed by one of Biden’s executive orders this month. Approximately 60 percent of Republicans are also against it, according to Morning Consult. The numbers are especially significant because Morning Consult found broad support for Biden’s other executive orders, suggesting that the outrage about the migrants could be even higher than reported. Morning Consult found only 39 percent of the American people supporting Biden’s vastly increased migrant cap.

The Biden administration is not only allowing in migrants that Trump blocked, but also utilizing 1,200 new beds for unaccompanied illegal alien children in Texas. Republicans looking to adopt the Trump mantle are not taking this Biden policy laying down.

“Effectively returning to catch and release — as the Biden administration announced today — could very well result in the release of COVID positive persons into the U.S., which will exacerbate the dual border and public health crises by making Texas border communities less safe and further straining local resources,” Texas Senator Ted Cruz stated.

The top Republican on the House Homeland Security Committee, Congressman John Katko, stated: “Those being re-processed south of our border by international organizations, who will determine their eligibility, will soon be released into U.S. communities as they get added to the 1,000,000+ immigration court backlog. Adjudication will take years. As more migrants catch wind of the reimplementation of ‘catch-and-release,’ the surge on our border will be unimaginable. As CBP encounters at the border top 3,000 a day on average, we have swiftly moved into the dangerous territory of the 2019 border crisis,” he said. “The situation at the border, combined with the raging pandemic, has created a perfect storm of security, humanitarian, and public health concerns.”

Florida Republican governor and possible 2024 presidential aspirant Ron DeSantis went straight at Biden, telling Maria Bartiromo: “Of course they’re not being screened for COVID at the southern border. Because this is all political. So he’s opening the border, he’s letting illegals pour in, they are not doing any COVID tests. They’re just coming into the communities. We have no idea what type of COVID or other things they may be carrying. But yet, he wants to potentially make you take a test if you just get on an airplane and fly from one American city to the next. Or he wants to prevent travel to the state of Florida. This stinks to high heaven. It is a huge contradiction and you can’t square wanting opening borders for illegal aliens but then also restricting U.S. citizens from basically traveling around the country as they see fit. And I think the American people see the hypocrisy.”
