Tommy Robinson, the anti-Islam activist has been forced to leave the UK while fearing for his family’s safety after an arson attack on his wife’s house.
In a video shared on social media, Tommy Robinson explained that his wife’s property was subject to an arson attack a few weeks ago, and “at that point, we left the country straight away”:
I’m looking at relocating my family which is pretty hard to do, especially with Covid. We couldn’t even find a hotel. Obviously my wife has had enough of everything. Someone has given us somewhere to stay so we left the country… I was due to be flying back for the demonstration, but now obviously with this 14 day quarantine, I won’t be able to get back out. My kids are out here. I’m still in the process of finding a permanent relocation for them. I’m finding new schools for my daughters. I need my family to be away because they’re not safe.
Robinson said that he thinks he knows who targeted his family. He said that it wasn’t Muslims, but happened “after all the BLM stuff.”
Leftists on Twitter were quick to celebrate Robinson’s persecution. Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu, a lawyer and leftist activist, said that “no country should give Tommy Robinson refuge,” and that the arson attack was simply “payback time for inciting hate against all those who sought refuge in [the] UK from persecution/war/economic oppression”:
No country should give Tommy Robinson refuge. Period. Payback time for inciting hate against all those who sought refuge in UK from persecution/war/economic oppression.
He runs to an European country which would've been easier to settle in if not for #Brexit. Can't make it up.

This mother fucker (@RobinsonParody ) gets what he deserves after all the drama against

Others claimed that he was making up the attack entirely, and that he had just left the country to escape the ramifications from supposedly being a fraud:
Tommy Tommy Tommy Tommy Robinson,
Has gone and fled to Spain because he's made his sum.
He's a coward and a charlatan who scammed and ran.
Yet the patriots can't even see what he's done.
Tommy Tommy Tommy Tommy Robin-son,
He's fucked you all over and now he's done…..

Tommy Robinson said "it wasn't Muslims" but that it happened "after the BLM stuff". Black people don't do arson. Look at the crime stats and you'll see that's nearly exclusively a 'white thing'.

Yet more mocked him, saying it was hypocritical for him to flee the country for his own safety when he has taken a tough stance against immigration and radical Islam:
Amongst all the rejoicing, and the schadenfreude, that has accompanied the news of Tommy Robinson ‘fleeing in fear for his life’, please let’s remember our humanity and spare a thought for the good people of Spain who have done nothing to deserve such a malignant refugee. 💃🏻

People of Spain, I urge you to hold up posters outside Tommy Robinson’s new gaff saying “ go back to your own country”… please, I beg you 🤣

However, a number of Twitter users were disgusted by this reaction, including those who don’t care much for Robinson usually:
Has she forgotten they just tried to murder Tommy Robinson and his family?
It's a good job Britain doesn't take this attitude towards returning ISIS terrorists and huge numbers of asylum seekers who arrive daily. https://t.co/YvCeqbbdhK

The bloke grew up a working class lad going football. I don't believe he is any more racist than any of us. Hes a product of the problems hes faced in the town he grew up in. He is an ego maniac but deep down I think he is genuine and only wants whats best for this country.

And I will make it clear. I'm not a huge fan of Tommy Robinson, I don't agree with everything he says but the fact that a group of people attempted an arson attack on tommy and his family because they have a different opinion is disgusting.

Tommy Robinson has been driven out of his home by an arson attack against his wife & family.
He said he did not think it was done by Muslims but he has a good idea who.
This is how low we have sunk in England. The police kneel to thugs. A patriotic Englishman has to flee. pic.twitter.com/jKVpoPVGNV

The Tommy Robinson trend is proof the UK is done imo.
Many of the same people celebrating actual violence against a person, also want mean words banned.
