According to the reports, the family was at the residence of Dr. Ulrich Klopfer to sort through his possessions after he has passed away on September 3, 2019.
On September 12, 2019 an attorney Kevin Bolger, contacted the Will County Coroner’s department on behalf of the Klopfer family to report the findings of approximately 2,246 medically preserved fetuses. Bolger further requested of the Will County Coroner’s office that they provide removal for the corpses.
The Will County Coroner followed up with both the Will County State’s attorney and the Will County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s office dispatched Crime Scene Investigators as well as representatives from the Coroner’s office to the home of Dr. Klopfer located in unincorporated Will County who took possession of the human remains.
According to the WCSO press release, the family is being cooperative in their investigations. The collaborated efforts of the family along with the Will County Coroners Office, Will County Sheriff’s Office, and the Will County Stat’s attorney is ongoing.
Four years ago Dr. Klopfer lost his medical license and was subsequently suspended from his position at the Women’s Pavilion in South Bend, Illinois according to the Coroner’s report. In 2015 Dr. Klopfer faced accusations that he was responsible for preforming an abortion on a 13-year-old girl.
Klopfner had failed to report the procedure, failing to practice reasonable care, and violating numerous documentation and notice requirements necessary to execute an abortion procedure on a minor.
The killing of babies at any stage of pregnancy is considered immoral by a number of conservatives, especially those who take issue with the sale of aborted fetus body parts.
This still is allowed and practiced according to the United States Committee on Oversight and Reform.
Further investigations are still being conducted by both the Will County Sheriff’s Department, and the WIll County Coroners Office, but all preliminary indications imply Dr. Klopfer had amassed a collection of over 2,000 women’s aborted children.
This collection is seemingly methodical and deliberate due to the preservation of the bodies. It has been speculated that much like his previous employers, Whole Women’s health, he had intention to profit from the sale of these fetal remains.
