Free speech social media platform Gab has seen sign ups from two Representatives in the space of two days, with Matt Gaetz and Thomas Massie both joining.
Gaetz, the Representative for Florida’s 1st District, and Massie, the Representative for Kentucky’s 4th District, joined Gab on Thursday and Friday respectively, netting tens of thousands of followers between them shortly after they joined.
Both Congressmen appeared to appreciate the lack of censorship on the Alt Tech platform, with Rep Gaetz saying that he was “enjoying” the platform so far, and Rep Massie praising the mobile Gab app for not having to rely on “Apple or Google for distribution.”
FYI, I’m trying out @getongab with a personal account. The app is pretty good and doesn’t rely on Apple or Google for distribution.
If Twitter decides to MTG me for speaking too much truth, I will setup an official congressional account on Gab!

Representative Gosar, an active poster on Gab, welcomed both of them onto the platform. “Just in the last couple days, the great Congressmen Matt Gaetz AND Thomas Massie have signed up on & embraced Gab. Can you feel the momentum?” Dr Gosar posted. “Gab, like America First, is inevitable. It’s unstoppable.”
With the sign ups of Representatives Gaetz and Massie, the current number of Congressmen on Gab is now up to 6, with over 50 2022 candidates and other statewide elected officials now present on the platform.
Torba confirmed that for the upcoming midterm elections, Gab would create a dedicated election feed for all Americans to access without censorship. “As more members of Congress join Gab and as dozens of candidates running for office join them it’s becoming more clear by the day that Gab is the place to be for the 2022 election and beyond,” he added.
“For the first time Americans will be able to access the free flow of information and news at scale on a social media platform this election cycle without permission or censorship from Silicon Valley Oligarchs,” Torba said in a press release. “Every month tens of millions of Americans are visiting Gab as the censorship, medical tyranny, and deplatforming of dissident and conservative thinkers accelerates. In the past 30 days alone Gab has had over 70 million visits and our traffic has surpassed that of most major news sites.”
The move by the Representatives to join Gab follows the recent permanent suspension of Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene from Twitter, for allegedly violating the Big Tech platform’s policies regarding COVID-19.
“Maxine Waters can go to the streets and threaten violence on Twitter, Kamala and Ilhan can bail out Black Lives Matter terrorists on Twitter, CNN and the rest of the Democrat Propaganda Media can spread Russia collusion lies, and just yesterday the Chief spokesman for terrorist IRGC can tweet mourning Soleimani, but I get suspended for tweeting VAERS statistics,” wrote Greene in a statement after her ban. “Twitter is an enemy to America and can’t handle the truth.”
