An anti-drag protestor was arrested at Trinity United Church in Gravenhurst, Ontario, Canada by Ontario Provincial Police on Saturday for “swearing” and “causing a public disturbance.”
The police accused the anti-drag protestors of trespassing and stated that “swearing in a public place” is against the law.

“We’re stating our point of view,” the protestor said. “We are on public property,” a man added. In the end, it did not matter to the police.
Before her arrest, the woman lost patience with the police for their harassment of the small group of five peaceful protestors.
“I’m protesting grown adults who want to dress in lingerie and dance around children! We have a whole country, a whole nation filled with children who do not know whether they are boys or girls because of activities like this and it is up to us adults to stand up and to protect these children children,” the woman said. “To stand on their side in front of them is morally wrong. It is wrong and for them to hold it in a church is wrong.”
The police officer then accused the group of blocking the entrance to the church when the video clearly showed the group speaking on the sidewalk in front of the building.
“You’re going to protect the child predators. Great job. You’re supposed to protect the children, not feed them to the sick and mentally disabled!” the woman exclaimed. “Look at [the police officers] shaking hands. [A] disgrace.”
The officers left for a couple of minutes before they returned and arrested the woman.
“You’re under arrest for causing a public disturbance. You’re swearing and yelling in a public place,” the Ottawa Provincial police officer told the anti-drag protestor.
The event was held last year and sponsored by the same group, Muskoka Pride. The group recently published a video about the 2021 event on its YouTube channel.
“We encourage people to bring some tips for the drag queens. These are people who are volunteering their time because they enjoy it so it’s always great to tip the performers so they understand how much you enjoy it,” Shawn Forth of Muskoka Pride said. “It’s gay male performers. Over the top. Make-up, costumes like you wouldn’t believe and because it’s the theme of Halloween the costumes are going to be that much more.”
The National File previously published an exclusive report on the arrests of anti-drag protestors in New York.
