Rep. Anna Paulina Luna announced she would vote for a speaker who is committed to defunding Biden’s DOJ witch hunts against President Trump and his supporters. This, as Matt Gaetz revealed Tuesday night that during CR negotiations, Kevin McCarthy held border security hostage to ensure Jack Smith remained funded. Gaetz pledged to vacate the chair if Smith was not defunded. Gaetz followed through on his promise Tuesday afternoon.
Luna’s statement read, “I will vote for the Speaker who publicly and clearly commits to defünding Jack Smith’s anti-American election interference witch hunts and subpoenas Hunter Biden while bringing vote on the impeachment of Joe Biden to the floor of the House. We must have free and fair elections and end the corruption of our government. America will only survive if we do those things.”

Tuesday night, Matt Gaetz revealed that McCarthy was so determined to fund Jack Smith during last week’s CR negotiations that McCarthy took border funding hostage to ensure Smith remained funded. Gaetz said, “Kevin McCarthy wanted us to surrender every other fight, including Jack Smith weaponized government, just to isolate the border thing. I don’t believe conservatives get ahead is surrendering everything but the border in order to address the border.”

Gaetz pledged during CR negotiations that he would vacate the chair if Smith was not defunded. Tuesday afternoon, Gaetz held true to his word and ousted McCarthy from the Speakership.
Following Gaetz’s Tuesday night reveal, President Trump posted a cryptic post on TruthSocial. Trump wrote, ” Fix the border.”
During last week’s CR negotiations, Trump was adamant about defunding Biden’s DOJ witch hunts against him and Jack Smith. In one of his posts talking about the subject, Trump said, “Failure is not an option.”
Defunding Jack Smith will be a crucial component in the GOP’s quest to elect a new speaker.
