On a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast with guests Steve Schirripa and Michael Imperioli from the HBO television series “The Sopranos,” it was revealed that the late James Gandolfini was ready to lay hands on Harvey Weinstein after becoming fed up with the disgraced movie mogul in 2012.
Schirripa told host Joe Rogan that he was hanging out with Gandolfini in the latter’s trailer after Gandolfini had finished working on the movie “Killing Them Softly,” which was to be distributed by Weinstein’s production company.
Gandolfini, who had a distaste for late night talk shows according to Schirripa and would only appear on “60 Minutes,” expressed his anger at being constantly harassed by Weinstein to appear on the David Letterman show.
“He said, ‘Harvey Weinstein keeps calling, he wants me to do Letterman and I said I don’t do talk shows.’ And he keeps calling, and he got f**king nasty with Jim,” Schirripa said. “And Jim said, ‘I will beat the f**k out of Harvey Weinstein! He f**king calls me again, I will beat the f**k out of him! For the money he paid me, I’m not f**king doing it!’ Swear to God. And this is before all the Harvey Weinstein sh*t when he was still king sh*t.”
Weinstein is currently serving a 23-year prison sentence for sexual assault.
Schirripa also went on to describe New York Mayor Bill de Blasio as the “worst f*cking human that maybe walks the face of the earth.”
Schirripa described the atmosphere of New York after the recent Black Lives Matter riots: “The streets are empty at night, after the looting, they destroyed SoHO, you know, it’s just destroyed, you know, and the cops are very timid, and it’s all f*cked up.”
“I don’t know how it happened,” Rogan replied. “Like, seeing the cops just standing around while they were looting the art galleries in SoHo, while they were smashing Fifth Avenue, like, what the f*ck is this? It’s like the end of the world.”
“You know, De Basio’s the worst f*cking – I’m not a political guy at all, Joe, like not at all, but he’s the worst f*cking human that maybe walks the face of the earth, I kid you not,” Schirripa said.
