Fox News host Greg Gutfeld said he was “glad” that Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all charges because his neighborhood was looted, adding that he doesn’t “ever want to go through that again.”
The Fox News host made the statement on Tuesday night after news broke that Minnesota police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all counts for the murder of George Floyd.
“The guilty verdict would come as no surprise to many, with multiple instances of seeming intimidation against the jury from activists and elected officials. “If George Floyd’s murderer is not sentenced, just know that all hell is gonna break loose,” warned Black Lives Matter activist Maya Echols. “Don’t be surprised when buildings are on fire. Just sayin’.” Echols later deleted the video after backlash.”
“I’m glad he was found guilty on all charges, even if he might not be guilty of all charges,” Gutfeld said. “I’m glad that he’s guilty of all charges, because I want a verdict that keeps this country from going up in flames.”

The comments drew objections from his shocked colleagues. “Oh my goodness,” said liberal host Juan Williams. Jeanine Pirro then replied “No, look, Greg – ” when Gutfeld cut her off. “What do you mean? No, at least I’m being honest – my neighborhood was looted,” Gutfeld said. “I don’t ever want to go through that again.”
“Greg, we do not sacrifice individuals for the sake of how people feel,” Pirro replied. “The bottom line is, that courtroom is a place where the evidence is brought in. It is pristine in terms of the way it’s handled. Everything outside of the courtroom does not enter it.”
“OK, OK. Whoa, whoa, whoa – did you, wait a second – did you hear what Mike Tobin said when he was interviewing some people and they said, ‘Hey, we’re not going to loot tonight, we’re going to celebrate?’ So we were dealing with what we thought was a sense of extortion, that if this didn’t go a certain way – I’m speaking the truth – if it didn’t go a certain way, there was gonna be destruction. We know that! Why pretend otherwise?” Gutfeld retorted.
As America reacts to the controversial ruling, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has thanked George Floyd for “sacrificing [his] life for justice,” with her comments being widely mocked on social media, as National File reported.
“Speaker Pelosi spoke at a press conference following the conviction of former Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin on all counts of the murder of George Floyd. “It’s not over,” Pelosi said, claiming that Democrats would fight to get the “George Floyd Justice and Policing Act” passed in Congress and signed by Joe Biden.”
