A teenage boy suffered burns to his genitals after his neighbor, a married woman, burned them with hot tongs when the boy failed to succumb to her sexual advances.
The married woman has been charged with hurting the boy with a weapon, wrongful confinement, kidnapping and criminal intimidation after keeping the boy captive at her home in Noida, near Dehli, when the attack took place.
The incident was reported from a village called Chapraula, where the accused woman remains at large.
The victim’s mother said that the married neighbor had repeatedly made sexual advances to the boy–which he consistently rejected.
According to The Deccan Chronicle:
“The married woman, apparently in her late 20s, had lured the boy to her house in the afternoon last Friday when she was alone,” the official said.
An official said that the woman has also been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The Deccan Chronicle continues:
“The police are investigating the matter from all angles. The delay in approaching the police leaves several questions unanswered.”
India has been rocked by several high profile sex crimes over the past few years.
Most recently, four men who were accused of raping and murdering a 27-year-old vet were taken about to the scene of the crime and shot dead by local police.
A filmmaker kicked off a social media storm after suggesting rape without murder should be legalized.
The filmmaker also suggest that women should cooperate with their rapist–to avoid getting murdered–and carry condoms with them–just in case.
