Rightwing media figures have begun to speculate the Biden administration may have been behind the damage to the Russian Nord Stream gas pipelines.
Fox News’ Tucker Carlson suggested President Biden’s administration could be responsible for damaging the pipelines to help advance the climate change agenda, while also potentially ushering in a world war conflict with Vladimir Putin and Russia.
The Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines were both disrupted Monday. The undersea Nord Stream 1 pipeline faced a significant pressure drop as did its sister pipeline, Nord Stream 2.
Government officials from Norway, Sweden, and Denmark have labeled the leaks as “deliberate” and probably the result of “sabotage.”
Likewise, seismologists have suggested the leaks were incurred by explosions.

Carlson discussed how it would be ridiculous to believe Vladimir Putin was responsible for the Nord Stream damages.
“If you are Vladimir Putin you would have to be a suicidal moron to blow up your own energy pipeline—that’s one thing you would never do,” Carlson began.
“Natural gas pipelines are the main source of your power and wealth. And most critically, your leverage over other countries. Blowing up Nord Stream does not help Vladimir Putin. He would not do that. Why would he,” Carlson continued.
“But that doesn’t mean that other countries wouldn’t consider doing it. They would consider it and we know they have considered it, because at least one of them has said so in public,” the Fox News host added before playing a February video of President Biden pledging to “put an end” to the Nord Stream 2 pipeline if Russia invaded Ukraine.
“If Russia invades… then there will no longer be a Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it,” Biden told a reporter during the February conference.
The reporter then questioned how the U.S. could end a pipeline not owned by the government.
“I promise you, we will be able to do it,” Biden responded.

Reporter: "But how will you do that, exactly, since…the project is in Germany's control?"

Carlson believes this February footage may lead one to believe the Biden admin is behind the Nord Stream failures.
“He [Biden] didn’t say, ‘I will pause the delivery of gas from Russia to Germany.’ He said there won’t be a Nord Stream 2. We’ll put an end to it. We’ll take it out. We’ll blow it up,” Carlson stated.
Tucker Carlson went on to hint Biden may have sabotaged the pipelines to support the Left’s climate change agenda.
“This is the president who has declared climate change the most pressing emergency in the history of the world. This is the man who lectures you about using a woodstove or driving an SUV because of its emissions. This is the guy who spent billions trying to mitigate cow flatulence because methane. Would that guy really blow up a methane pipeline in the middle of the Baltic Sea,” Carlson questioned.
He then played a clip of State Department official Victoria Nuland where she pledged, in January, that the pipeline would “not move forward” if Russia invaded Ukraine.

“Looking back, those words seem chilling eight months later. As natural gas pours into the Baltic Sea and into the atmosphere… Could the Biden administration really do something like this,” Carlson questioned.
Carlson concluded by mentioning that Radek Sikorski, a White House ally and Polish member of the European Parliament, attributed the Nord Stream damage to the United States.
Sikorski tweeted out an image of gas leaking into the Baltic sea with the caption, “Thank you, USA.”
