Continuing its hard turn to the Left, Fox News cut away from a briefing by the Trump Campaign from the White House updating the American people on the state of the election. In mid-sentence, the news channel yanked coverage saying there is no “evidence” of voter fraud.
While White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany briefed the White House Press Corps on the state of lawsuits in several battle ground states, Fox News Channel host Neil Cavuto pulled the coverage saying he couldn’t “in good countenance” continue to cover the briefing.
“Whoa, whoa, I think we need to be very clear, she’s charging the other side of welcoming fraud and welcoming illegal voting,” Cavuto said as the network cut from the briefing.
“Unless she has more details to back that up, I can’t in good countenance continue showing you this. I want to make sure – maybe they do have something to back that up – but that’s an explosive charge to make, that the other side is effectively rigging and cheating. If she does bring proof of that, of course, we’ll take you back. So far, she had started saying right at the outset, ‘welcoming fraud, welcoming illegal voting.’ Not so fast,” Cavuto said cutting to a commercial break.
McEnany had been briefing the correspondents’ pool on the legalities surrounding the election, including how the election – because of pending litigation and the fact that no states have certified their votes – is far from over. It was after speaking to the legal actions she that McEnany turned to pointing out the reality of the country’s current state of political affairs.
“[There is only] one party in America that opposed verifying signatures, citizenship, residency, eligibility. There is only one party in America trying to keep observers out of the count room. And that party, my friends, is the Democrat party,” McEnany said.
“You don’t take these positions because you want an honest election. You don’t oppose an audit of the vote because you want an accurate count. You don’t oppose our efforts at sunlight and transparency because you have nothing to hide. You take these positions because you are welcoming fraud and welcoming illegal voting,” she continued telling reporters.
“We want maximum sunlight. We want maximum transparency. We want every legal vote to be counted and we want every illegal vote…” At this point Cavuto cut the feed and voiced his opinionated protest.
Fox News was rightly criticized on Election Night when it declared Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden the winner in Arizona. Today, the Trump campaign is within one percentage point with ballots still to be counted.
Saturday night, for the first time in recent history, the Fox News channel fell to third in the cable news ratings with both CNN and MSNBC beating the once unbeatable news outlet.
