In an interview on CNN, Joe Walsh, a failed primary challenger to President Trump, said he would rather have a socialist in the White House than the current occupant.
Joe Walsh was trying to unseat President Trump, and challenged him for the Republican candidacy for President. He was, unsurprisingly, destroyed by the President in the Iowa caucuses, and announced on Friday that he was dropping out of the race.
Speaking to John Berman on CNN’s “New Day” program, Walsh admitted that he was going to try to help the Democratic nominee in their 2020 campaign for President. “Donald Trump is a dictator, he’s a king. He is literally the greatest threat to this country right now,” he said. “Any Democrat would be better than Trump in the White House. That’s not an easy thing for me to say, but that tells you how serious this moment is.”
When asked what Democrat he was most likely to support, Walsh said it was an “interesting field,” and went on to compare the President’s followers to a cult.
I am going to spend a lot of my time trying to talk these next few months to Republicans and moderates and Independents to encourage them that your only option John is a Democrat. It’s not Trump, it’s not the cult. A lot of people have left the Republican party, so many people have left. He’s got his core, cult-like following that cannot be reached, but there are a lot of Republicans and moderates on the margins, there are a lot of Independents who are undecided right now.
Despite being a former Tea Party Republican, Walsh said he would “rather have a socialist in the White House than a dictator, than a king, than Donald Trump.”
JUST NOW: " I would rather have a socialist in the White House than a dictator."

Of course, Twitter ripped into Walsh for his rather ridiculous comments:
Sooo… Joe Walsh dropped out of the Republican primary saying the entire GOP is now a "cult" for Trump.. not that he's a nobody running against an incumbant President who's delivering on all his 2016 promises including record economic numbers… but that it's a "cult"…got it.
