Fired CNN host Don Lemon offered a statement about his firing that CNN quickly smacked down as the two sides tussle on Lemon’s way out the door.
Lemon recently got demoted from his former prime-time slot and stuck on the CNN morning show, as one-third of an ensemble hosting unit with Kaitlan Collins and Poppy Harlow. During his brief tenure in the mornings, Lemon brought his patented brand of clueless befuddled interviewing and half-formed dimwitted commentary dressed up in melodramatic presentation. The viewers were evidently not impressed. Neither was the network.
“I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been terminated by CNN. I am stunned. After 17 years at CNN I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly,” Don Lemon stated on Twitter.

“Don Lemon’s statement about this morning’s events is inaccurate. He was offered an opportunity to meet with management but instead released a statement on Twitter,” CNN Communications stated in response.

Don Lemon’s contentious interview with Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy on guns may have had something to do with Lemon’s firing, because it reportedly “exasperated” CNN brass, but it was just merely one of many embarrassing cringe-worthy moments that Lemon has inflicted upon the airwaves over the course of his ridiculous career.
The NYT reports that this interview with Vivek played a major role in Don Lemon's firing.
