Democrat New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has seemingly never heard the phrase, “be the change you want to see in the world.” Cuomo has devoted his time in office to feverishly advocating for everyone to wear a mask on his Twitter feed, but in a recent visit to Georgia Cuomo was noticeably unmasked as he embraced and cozied up to a large number of other people.
Of all the public officials mask advocates advocated for compulsory mask wearing, Cuomo is perhaps the most zealous.
“Wearing a mask is about respect. We launched a national campaign to encourage every American to wear a mask. Stop the Spread. Save Lives,” Cuomo captioned a tweet about the “Mask Up America” campaign.

“If a hospital worker can wear a mask nonstop during a 10-hour shift. If women can wear masks during labor. You can wear a mask while running an errand,” Cuomo said in a tweet that received over 200,000 likes Tuesday.

Cuomo also tweeted in May, “When you wear a mask you are saying I respect my neighbors. When you wear a mask you are saying I respect nurses and doctors. When you wear a mask you are saying I respect other people.”

Cuomo’s actions during a visit to Georgia this week, however, told a different story. The New York governor was noticeably and proudly unmasked as he interacted with masked local officials during a photo op.
Cuomo also did not appear to observe the much-vaunted “six feet” social distancing guidelines recommended by medical professionals.

New York residents are subject to compulsory quarantine after traveling to other stats, including Georgia, but it appears Cuomo will be self-exempting from that order.
Cuomo has yet to respond to public criticism over his failure to wear a mask in Georgia, and still appears to be continuing to agitate for a mask mandate on Twitter.
