A man accused of the rape and murder of a six-year-old girl in the southern state of Chiapas, Mexico was beaten, tied, and burned alive by an enraged lynch mob.
The man, identified by local media as Alfredo Roblero, was accused of the horrific rape and murder of the girl known as Jarid, which prompted a furious lynch mob beat, tied, and doused the accused Roblero with gasoline before setting him alight, killing him.
The body of the missing girl, Jarid, was found at a road side the day before Roblero was set aflame.
Graphic footage showed a mob surrounding and recording Roblero, who was tied to a post, on their phones.
Roblero was beaten and kicked by the mob who bound his hands and feet before dousing him.
When he was set on fire, he could be heard screaming and writhing in agony to the jeering and whistling crowd.
When the authorities arrives, they were unable to revive him.
Other footage, before the condemned man awaited his fate, shows Roblero tied to a post with the crowd surrounding him, making certain pronouncements to the accused pedophile.
The Chiapas authorities warned that civilians weren’t allowed to take the law into their own hands and an investigation into the death of the victim has been opened.
This particular investigation is ongoing.
This isn’t the first time a mob has taken matters dealing with pedophiles into their own hands.
Store clerks beat a man caught molesting a three-year-old boy within an inch of his life as they believed the justice system to be ineffectual when dealing with sex crimes against children.
National File reports:
Local news reports, the unnamed man had attempted to rape the toddler, on Úrsulo Galván street, in Veracruz, Mexico, until baffled shopkeepers went to investigate the noise made by the attempted rape.
When the would-be rapist was discovered, the shopkeepers tried to lynch the man when the man was caught touching the boy’s genitals and the three-year-old boy tried to communicate his distress.
The man was beaten with fists, stones, belts, kicks and was stripped to his underwear, leaving him fighting for his life.
Those involved in the attempted lynching justified their actions through their distrust of the authorities’ integrity.
They believed the unnamed man would be freed following the attempted rape.
The boys mother has signaled that she wishes for the police to launch a formal investigation into the man.
