“When Josh Shapiro was deciding on the location of the biggest moment in his young life, he chose Israel.
“Important life events, like the night I proposed to my high school sweetheart, happened in Israel,” the Democratic chairman of the Montgomery County Commissioners told the large gathering at the “Standing United With Israel” celebration at Temple Sinai in Upper Dublin on Tuesday night.

During his remarks, Shapiro also illustrated why Israel should be close to the hearts of all Americans, citing the strong similarities between the Declaration of Independence and the Israeli declaration.”
Shapiro’s spokesman tried to explain away the traitorous move, stating, “While he was in high school, Josh Shapiro was required to do a service project, which he and several classmates completed through a program that took them to a kibbutz in Israel where he worked on a farm and at a fishery. The program also included volunteering on service projects on an Israeli army base. At no time was he engaged in any military activities.”
