Freedom truckers have launched a GiveSendGo campaign to raise money for their peaceful occupation of Ottawa after GoFundMe froze the truckers’ donation account and then kiboshed their fundraising page altogether. The truckers had raised over $10 million when GoFundMe hit them with the ban hammer. To add insult to financial injury, GoFundMe is currently holding onto the money and freezing the truckers out of their well-deserved funds. The Freedom truckers are occupying Ottawa in protest of the government’s vaccine mandate for truckers crossing into the United States, and leftist prime minister Justin Trudeau has fled his home in the capital city and is now effectively in exile. The establishment is getting nervous, as evidenced by the Ottawa police and Canadian feds teaming up for a “surge and containment strategy” to counteract the truckers.
The Freedom Convoy’s GiveSendGo campaign reportedly garnered more than $90,000 immediately after its Friday launch, and activity is so hot on their page that the website appears to be having server issues. HERE IS THE GIVESENDGO CAMPAIGN FOR THE FREEDOM CONVOY. GiveSendGo is an explicitly Christian fundraising engine. The Freedom Convoy’s GiveSendGo page states: “To our Fellow Canadians, the time for political over reach is over. Our current government is implementing rules and mandates that are destroying the foundation of our businesses, industries and livelihoods.”
GoFundMe, meanwhile, is pandering to the left. “GoFundMe supports peaceful protests and we believe that was the intention of the Freedom Convoy 2022 fundraiser when it was first created. We now have evidence from law enforcement that the previously peaceful demonstration has become an occupation, with police reports of violence and other unlawful activity,” GoFundMe whined in a clearly politicized statement, despite the fact that freedom truckers set up a soup kitchen for the homeless and they fill Ottawa with joyous honking and even street hockey.
