National File reporter Charles Downs captured a video Friday of child mutilation lobbyist Marc Lampkin saying he supports Ron DeSantis for president. Lampkin commented to Downs as he walked into a fundraiser he was hosting for DeSantis in Washington D.C. According to the fundraiser’s flyer, guests of Lampkin could donate up to $50,000 to sit with Lampkin and DeSantis at a roundtable discussion during the fundraiser. Trump has pledged a federal ban on child mutilation, while DeSantis takes money from child mutilation lobbyists.
In the video, Downs asks, “Mr. Lampkin, why do you support Ron DeSantis?”
Lampkin answers that he supports Ron DeSantis for “Freedom.”
Downs replies, “Mr. Lampkin, you are a child mutilation lobbyist, so do you support Ron DeSantis because he supports the mutilation of children?”
Lampkin did not answer Downs’ follow-up question.

Ron DeSantis claims he stands against child mutilation, even though DeSantis has support from one of the most influential child mutilation lobbyists in Washington.
It is also important to note that Trump has pledged to ban child mutilation federally, while DeSantis has not. Lampkin’s support of DeSantis may be a key reason why DeSantis has not joined Trump in supporting a federal child mutilation ban.
Even more disturbing is immediately before he arrived at the fundraiser, DeSantis gave a speech at Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Road to Majority Conference, where DeSantis attempted to sell GOP voters on the fact that he will protect family values.

After Downs and National File tweeted the video, pro-DeSantis influencers and establishment journalist outlets began attacking Downs and NationalFile. Their untrue attacks and cowardly actions prove National File was right on target in exposing the hypocrisy of the DeSantis campaign.
