Former Mesa County (Colorado) Clerk Tina Peters is going to trial to defend herself against ten criminal charges stemming from her work to defend election integrity in her county. Jury selection in the trial kicked off Monday, and Peters faces approximately twenty years in prison.
Peters’ charges include attempting to influence a public servant, identity theft, and criminal impersonation. But her supporters believe it’s all a witch hunt to make an example of Peters, who stood up to Dominion Voting Systems and the widely disputed vote-counting process that plagues American politics. “The trial, the ten count indictment trial is this week. So they want to put me in prison, an innocent whistleblower in prison for 20 to 30 years which would be a life sentence, for non crimes, for backing up my constituents’ election records,” Tina Peters told NATIONAL FILE.
“They put me in jail for 36 hours and it’s a bad place to be. People have no idea how precious our liberty is. It’s something that no one should ever have to face, much less a Gold Star mom,” said Peters, whose son is a fallen Navy SEAL who died while Peters was running for local office. Peters also survived lung cancer. Peters said that President Donald Trump inspired her to get involved in politics.
“I decided for my life to mean more. I got involved in walking for Trump. I had never gotten involved in politics before. I thought people who were involved had that under control. But no, Americans have to do it,” Peters recalled.
“I pick things that are a challenge,” Peters said. “I thought I could make a difference. I ran for office and I won. My son died while I was running. I won the office much to the dismay of people who decided who the successor should have been. My predecessor, she’s the one who did the pilot program back in 2013 to bring in the Dominion voting machines. She became term limited, she served 2 terms, her chosen successor I beat. So because of that all Hell was to pay. I was harassed from the time I took office. They tried to do a recall, they tried to plant things. No good deed goes unpunished,” Peters said.
“I did a lot of great things. I opened up offices on a shoestring. I gave the staff raises and promotions and I always stayed within budget. I ran the county office like I ran my business,” Peters said.
Peters said that her fascination with election irregularities started with complaints from her constituents.
“The constituents kept bringing me information and asking me to check it out. Then we had the April 6, 2021 election and when I pulled the results that night I got sick to my stomach. There was no way those people had beat out the established candidates, they had just moved to town, they were radical left,” Peters said. It was then that she knew something was seriously wrong.
“When you look at the indictment, even though the mainstream media puts out I breached the county voting system? That’s a lie. What I did was legal. What I found because of it showed criminality on the part of the Secretary of State and Dominion Voting Systems,” Peters said.
“I was preserving federal election records. A state cannot prosecute me for preserving federal election records. It’s the Supremacy Clause. But try to find a good judge these days. I’m surprised that SCOTUS has not taken up any of these election cases. Why? Everybody knows that these elections are not secure. This is the biggest issue above anything else. The selection of these people is the reason we have open borders, Fentanyl, human trafficking, wars. You can trace it all back to the people who have been selected in power illegally,” Peters said.
“This is big. They had to put me away for the rest of my life on trumped up charges because they don’t want me to bring in the evidence. The indictment has nothing to do with the election equipment, but that’s what it’s all about,” Peters said.

It’s not the Democrats doing this, it’s these globalist Marxists. There are some Republicans on the take who are just as bad as any Democrat. I want the vote to count for everyone. That’s why we are America,” Peters said.
After saying she wants the vote to count for everyone, Peters quickly added: “But not for illegals.”
