Chicago’s Mayor, Lori Lightfoot, went on the offensive Tuesday night after President Trump called her city out as one of the most violent cities in the nation during the first presidential debate.
The President, addressing the Democrat leadership’s reluctance to speak out against the abundance of violent civil unrest in Democrat-run urban areas, highlighted the uncontrolled and unaddressed violence in Chicago.
“If you look at Chicago, what’s going on in Chicago, where 53 people were shot and died, shot. If you look at New York where it’s going up like nobody’s ever seen, the numbers are going up like one-hundred, two-hundred percent on crime, ” the President said when asked by moderator Chris Wallace whether urban violence is a party issue. “It’s crazy what’s going on.”
This set Lightfoot into a flurry of tweets, the first ordering the President to “keep ‘Chicago’ out of your lying mouth.”

But that was where Lightfoot started, not where she was going to leave it lay.
In the face of President Trump’s verifiable claim that unemployment in the Black community is at an all-time low and Black homeownership and business ownership are at an all-time high, Lightfoot towed the Marxist-Progressive party line.
“Donald Trump has helped Black Americans more than any president?!,” Lightfoot tweeted. “If he were Pinocchio, his nose would be drooping on the floor.”

In 2004, Chicago recorded its lowest homicide rate since 1965 after adopting suppression tactics that worked in Los Angeles and New York. But Chicago has seen a steady uptick in violence – and deadly violence – since then.
In 2010, Chicago’s homicide rate eclipsed that of Los Angeles and was more than double the number of homicides than New York. In 2015, Chicago beat both New York and Los Angeles combined.
The number of homicides in Chicago through September 27th of this year has exploded by 50% to 581, this according to data from the Chicago Police Department.
Lightfoot’s response to the massive increase in violent crime and homicides in her city is to blame the President for “incendiary language”, the gun lobby, Republicans in Congress, other States, and the coronavirus.
Democrats have held the Mayor’s Office in Chicago since 1931. Of the 50 Aldermen serving, one is Republican, two are independent, six are Democrat-Socialist, and 41 are Democrat.
