At roughly 6 p.m. Eastern Time, President Donald Trump’s Monday press conference in the Briefing Room was interrupted by Secret Service, who spoke to the President and then escorted him out of the room.
The Secret Service agent could be heard whispering “We have shots fired outside in President Trump’s ear.”
The President then returned to the room minutes later to announce that shots had been fired at the White house, and an armed gunman had been taken down by gunfire from the police and Secret Service.

“I would to thank the Secret Service for doing their always quick and very effective work, but there was an actual shooting, and the person was taken to the hospital, and I don’t know the condition of the person,” Trump said.
The condition of the person shot by Secret Service is not known at this time.
