Supporters of President Trump have stormed the Capitol Building, following Mike Pence’s announcement he will betray him in favour of Joe Biden.
In a statement, Mike Pence said that he will not be standing by President Trump during the counting of the Electoral College votes in the Joint Session of Congress.
“After an election with significant allegations of voting irregularities and numerous instances of officials setting aside state election law, I share the concerns of millions of Americans about the integrity of the election,” wrote Pence.
However, despite his apparent “concerns,” he will not be using his constitutional authority to help reject Electors from states with serious electoral irregularities. “It is my considered judgment that my oath to support and defend the Constitution constrains me from claiming unilateral authority to determine which electoral votes should be counted and which should not,” Pence continued.
