Michael Avenatti, nicknamed “Creepy Porn Lawyer” during his appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight, has been found guilty of extorting Nike for $25 million.
Avenatti was convicted on federal charges relating to his scheme to extort athletic brand Nike for $25 million. Federal authorities say that in addition to the alleged extortion, Avenatti lied to his client as part of his scheme to extort the athletic brand.
The disgraced lawyer was convicted by a jury of all three charges.
Two years ago, Avenatti gained celebrity acclaim on cable news outlets as the lawyer of porn actress Stormy Daniels, who claimed that President Donald Trump paid her money in exchange for silence relating to an extramarital affair.
Daniels eventually dumped Avenatti as a lawyer, but not Avenatti was floated as a possible Democratic presidential candidate by CNN hosts.
This led to mockery from prominent Republicans, including Donald Trump Jr, who joked about a possible Avenatti presidential run on Twitter in 2018.
“Who else is excited about Avenatti/Weiner 2020,” wrote Trump. “It’s gonna be Carlos Dangerous.”

In addition to this guilty verdict, Avenatti faces upcoming trials for two other federal cases.
In New York, authorities claim he stole $300,000 from Stormy Daniels stemming from proceeds she generated by writing a book.
Avenatti will also face trial in California related to allegations that Avenatti defrauded his clients, including one disabled person, out of millions of dollars, and did not properly pay taxes.
The disgraced lawyer previously blocked National File editor-in-chief Tom Pappert on Twitter and told him to “go f**k” himself.
