National File recently obtained exclusive footage and photos of the assault on the doors of the Capitol building leading to the inaugural stage, depicting individuals who were potentially working with or for the FBI, local police, or federal law enforcement observing, instigating, and participating in the violence on January 6. One man depicted in the photos and footage used a pole to attack law enforcement towards the doors of the Capitol building on the inaugural stage. After being stopped by a Trump supporter who attempted to retrieve the pole seemingly in order to de-escalate the violence, the individual proceeded to kick him in the face.
At the time of the article’s publication, the man’s identity was unknown, as National File had exhaustively searched the FBI records regarding January 6 suspects, and media reports detailing those who have been arrested, and could not find an individual matching the description of the man seen in the images and videos. However, as a result of an FBI, leftist, and antifa sympathizer on Twitter who posted a thread regarding the individual on March 17, the violent man appears to have been identified as a Proud Boys impersonator David Dempsey.
National File spoke to Proud Boys Chairman Enrique Tarrio, who told National File that Dempsey asked to become a member of the fraternal organization in 2019 and was rejected due to an incident in which he allegedly used bear mace, or some form of pepper spray, to attack far left protesters while dressed in pro-Trump clothing.
According to reports, Dempsey is a convicted felon with a criminal history “dating back to 2016, with convictions for second-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit commercial burglary and fleeing a pursuing peace officer’s motor vehicle while driving recklessly.” In October 2019, Dempsey was arrested for spraying protesters with bear repellent at a political rally in Santa Monica, California. He was subsequently charged with the prohibited use of a tear gas weapon, assault with a caustic chemical, accused of violating parole stemming from prior convictions, and held without bail pending a court appearance.
A misdemeanor conviction for the prohibited use of a tear gas weapon, according to California penal code, is punishable by custody in county jail for up to one year, whereas a felony conviction could result in a state prison sentence for up to three years. An assault with a caustic chemical charge can result in two to four years in California state prison and/or a fine of up to $10,000. It is unclear if Dempsey was ever convicted of any crimes related to the 2019 incident. National File contacted the Santa Monica Police Department and did not receive information about a potential conviction in time for publication.
While it is unclear if Dempsey used any such weapons while seemingly at the Capitol, the Proud Boys’ Tarrio informed National File that Dempsey is apparently known in the California patriot community for his use of bear mace, pepper spray, and other such weapons.
If the violent individual depicted in the previous reports is indeed David Dempsey, it would seem strange that he would be free to protest in DC on January 6, given his immense legal troubles from 2019. On the USA Today Capitol Hill riot arrest page, which “gathers details of those cases as the FBI continues to find and charge those responsible for the attack,” there is no mention of Dempsey having been arrested. Nor is there any information from the FBI or DOJ concerning any warrants for his arrest over his potential violent activity at the Capitol six months ago, despite a nationwide federal dragnet effort to arrest, prosecute, and convict hundreds of supposed “insurrectionists” over the events that unfolded on January 6.

If the violent individual depicted in the exclusive report by National File is indeed Proud Boys impersonator David Dempsey, there would be good reason to believe that he is an undercover law enforcement asset, based on research done by Revolver News. Such a revelation could potentially explain why his name has been omitted by federal law enforcement regarding any arrests or active warrants over his alleged violent activity on January 6.

A masked man wearing a black helmet, camouflage pants and a bullet proof vest received a pole from another unknown person wearing a MAGA hat, then proceeded to attack the law enforcement at the doors, at one point intentionally kicking a Trump supporter in the face for trying to take his pole away in what appeared to be an attempt at preventing further violence.
As was reported by National File, court documents from June 30 pertaining to the indictment of Fi Doung, a man belonging to a “loosely affiliated, unnamed group of like-minded individuals” compared to a “known militia group located in Northern Virginia,” reveal that DC Metropolitan Police had an undercover federal employee working in DC on the morning of and leading up to the events at the Capitol on January 6, specifically at Freedom Plaza and the Capitol building area. This is the first admission from the government that an undercover federal operative was covertly interacting with patriot groups ahead of the violence at the Capitol on January 6.
