It was Margaret Thatcher, the former Prime Minister of Britain, who famously said, “The problem with Socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.” In a spendthrift proposal to navigate through the COVID scare, one Progressive illustrates the epitome of Thatcher’s wisdom.
US Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), whose proposals routinely demonstrate a complete lack of knowledge regarding economics, tweeted a proposal to help solve the coronavirus pandemic. The only problem is this. It would ramp up our national debt to heights never seen before.
In an effort to create the ultimate in social distancing, Ocasio-Cortez tweeted, “To get the virus under control, we need to pay people to stay home.”

Perhaps anticipating the blowback, Ocasio-Cortez went on the offensive in a manner typical of the “I Know You Are But What Am I” mindset.
Ocasio-Cortez attempted to inoculate her likely several trillion dollar idea by resorting to some of the more tired Democrat clichés about how the GOP always takes can of the rich and leaves the poor to wallow in the gutters.
“Republicans are mad at this when they literally just voted to do just this in March,” Ocasio-Cortez ranted. “The reason they’re opposed to it now is because last time they got a Wall Street bailout and this time all that’s left is helping working people, the disabled, the poor, etc.”

It needs to be noted that Wall Street gave the overwhelming bulk of their campaign donations this election cycle to Joe Biden and the Democrats.
She then snipped, “Funny how you didn’t hear Republicans complain about ‘spending other people’s money’ or ask ‘how are we going to pay for it?’ when they insisted on creating a $4 trillion leveraged slush fund for their Wall Street buddies in March.”

Ocasio-Cortez either through her ignorance of disingenuously ignored the massive $3 trillion-plus Health & Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions (HEROES) Act that was championed not only by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), but “The Squad” as well.
Of course, Ocasio-Cortez is no stranger to the moniker of spendthrift, in fact, just like most Marxists hiding behind the Progressive brand, she never met someone else’s wallet to which she would help herself.
Her Green New Deal, estimated to cost between $51 trillion and $93 trillion in new government spending, would not only fast-0track the United States to insolvency, it would destroy the dollar and, therefore, everyone’s 401k investment.
Ocasio-Cortez also favors free tuition for higher education, estimated to cost at the very least least $79 billion a year according to the Department of Education.
