Freedom Caucus Rep. Bob Good (VA-5) has endorsed America First conservative Sandy Smith for Congress in North Carolina’s 1st District as she prepares for the 2024 campaign season to get underway.
Trump-aligned, America First candidate Sandy Smith is launching a 2024 bid for US Congress in North Carolina, aiming to unseat Democrat Don Davis, who she narrowly lost to in 2022 after her campaign was subject to attacks from Kevin McCarthy and the GOP establishment. Freedom Caucus Rep. Bob Good, who ranks among those Reps. who stood against McCarthy’s nomination as Speaker of the House earlier this year, has already come out with a raving endorsement of Sandy Smith, saying that she is the exact type of America First conservative that the people of Eastern North Carolina need on Capitol Hill.

“I am proud to once again endorse Sandy Smith for Congress,” Rep. Good said in his endorsement of Smith. “She truly knows her district and will be an outstanding representative for her constituents. Sandy is a winner who genuinely cares about her community – and she has the courage and the toughness to fight for the people.”
“Sandy Smith is the conservative leader we need in Washington fighting for Eastern North Carolina. I look forward to working with her in the next Congress,” Rep. Good added.
“I am honored to have such a great endorsement from one of the strongest voices in the America First Conservative movement in Congress!” Smith said in accepting Good’s endorsement.

In 2022, Smith was among the America First candidates attacked by Kevin McCarthy, as he sought to consolidate his power and influence ahead of the elections and the Speaker of the House vote. In doing so, McCarthy used millions of dollars across numerous races, money that was largely provided to his Congressional Leadership Fund political machine by FTX financial crooks.
In a 2022 report from The Washington Post, McCarthy’s attempted sabotage of Smith in the GOP primary is openly acknowledged.
McCarthy has been accused by conservatives of continuing his attacks on America First candidates into the general elections, willingly surrendering seats to Democrats as he weaponized the NRCC against numerous candidates who made it past his first round of attacks.
