The Washington Commanders football team debuted the new politically correct version of their former “Hail to the Redskins” fight song ahead of their pre-season opener yesterday against the Carolina Panthers. The neutered fight song not only replaces the term Redskins with Commanders but also removes all references to men.
Hail to the Redskins was the second-oldest fight song in the NFL, having debuted in 1938 and only after Green Bay’s song, “Go! You Packers Go,” which has remained unchanged by football’s ruling leftists.
The team changed their name against the will of their fans and amidst pressure from corporate media and others on the extreme left who somehow conflated the team’s name with the death of multiple felon George Floyd in Minnesota. After now having played multiple seasons since 2020 under the monicker of the “Washington Football Team,” the “Commanders” first took the field last night.

The new version of the song, “Hail to the Commanders” debuted yesterday ahead of their preseason opener against the Carolina Panthers and was immediately mocked and ridiculed, with fans and others online pointing out the blatantly Soviet-style revisionism of the re-written song, dubbing it creepy.
Aside from the obvious replacement of the word “Redskins” with “Commanders,” the sanitized fight song removes references to men and masculinity, replacing the term “sons of Washington” with “all of Washington.”
Where lyrics formerly said “braves on the warpath, fight for old DC,” they will now say “fight for our Commanders, fight for old DC.”
Making the re-written fight song even more Soviet in nature, the so-called Commanders have tried to pass it off as an improved version of the original, boasting that the song’s “timeless tradition lives on.”
“A timeless tradition lives on,” the team posted to their Twitter account, where they’ve also replaced the “#HTTR” hashtag meaning “Hail to the Redskins” with a new “#HTTC” hashtag meaning “Hail to the Commanders.”
