Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) posed with embattled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Memorial Day, holding up a sign emblazoned with the slogan “More For Israel.” Graham was criticized by advocates for U.S. serviceman who noted that Graham spent much more time time praising Israel than honoring slain U.S. veterans on Memorial Day.
“No one has done more for Israel than you, Sen. @LindseyGrahamSC, a stalwart champion of our alliance and we have no better friend. I want to thank you for everything you’ve been doing over the years on our defenses, our security, on Iran. You’ve been a tremendous friend and ally,” a tweet from the Israeli PM account that was retweeted by Graham boasted.

Graham posted twice as much about his love for Israel as he did about fallen U.S. servicemen on Monday, dedicating four tweets to Israel compared to just two for Memorial Day.
The South Carolina senator was one of multiple Republicans who spent the weekend in Israel, including Ted Cruz of Texas and Bill Hagerty of Tennessee. Cruz defended the trip as an opportunity “to hear and see firsthand what our Israeli allies need to defend themselves, and to show the international community that we stand unequivocally with Israel.”
