USA Today admitted in July 2020 that Dr. Anthony Fauci said there is “no question” that a “surprise infectious disease outbreak” would occur during Donald Trump’s presidency back in 2017.
The report verifies that Fauci publicly warned of a surprise disease outbreak just ten days before President Donald Trump took office on January 20, adding that he was “extraordinarily confident” that such an outbreak would come “in the next few years.” An excerpt of the USA Today “fact check” reads as follows:
Students and global health experts gathered to encourage the then-incoming Trump administration to “plan accordingly,” according to Georgetown University Medical Center. The event, held Jan. 10, 2017, was organized by the Center for Global Health Science and Security in partnership with the Harvard Global Health Institute.
“There is no question that there will be a challenge to the coming administration in the arena of infectious diseases,” Fauci said during his “Pandemic Preparedness in the Next Administration” speech, which came shortly before Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20. He added, “the thing we’re extraordinarily confident about is that we’re going to see this in the next few years.”
Dr. Fauci has recently come under fire for funding “gain of function” research through the NIAID at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China, which some, including Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) have said could make him “culpable for the entire pandemic,” as National File reported. Additionally, Fauci’s longtime affiliate and billionaire Bill Gates has also made the news for his “bad behavior” and connections to convicted sex offender and pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

“And then there was Jeffrey Epstein, whom Mr. Gates got to know beginning in 2011, three years after Mr. Epstein, who faced accusations of sex trafficking of girls, pleaded guilty to soliciting prostitution from a minor. Ms. French Gates had expressed discomfort with her husband spending time with the sex offender, but Mr. Gates continued doing so, according to people who were at or briefed on gatherings with the two men.
So, in October 2019, when the relationship between Mr. Gates and Mr. Epstein burst into public view, Ms. French Gates was unhappy. She hired divorce lawyers, setting in motion a process that culminated this month with the announcement that their marriage was ending,” reported the New York Times.
Gates and Fauci have a multi million dollar relationship spanning back many years, National File Senior Reporter Patrick Howley reported in May 2020.
“He’s very good about not overpromising,” Gates said of Fauci in 2018 as Gates worked on a universal flu vaccine. NIAID Council minutes from 2019 show Fauci’s agency identifying a Gates Foundation workshop as being of interest. Gates met with Fauci in 2017 “to discuss research opportunities in global health.” In 2010, Fauci was named to the Leadership Council of the “Decade of Vaccines” Collaboration, which the World Health Organization, Fauci’s agency NIAID, UNICEF, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation convened.
Fauci delivered a keynote opening address on “The Challenge of Pandemic Preparedness” in Washington, D.C. at the October 2, 2017 Grand Challenges meeting, which is a project of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
