Cheryl Dorsey, a former LAPD Sergeant-turned-MSNBC talking head has said the black Attorney General of Kentucky is “skinfolk, not kinfolk.”
Dorsey appeared on MSNBC to discuss the recent grand jury decision in the Breonna Taylor case. As National File reported:
Breonna Taylor was shot in her apartment back in March of this year, when three Kentucky police officers entered her apartment in order to execute a warrant relating to a drug investigation of two other men, who were suspected of using her apartment to receive drug packages…
However, Breonna Taylor was not listed as a victim in the indictment of the grand jury. The charge of three counts of wanton endangerment instead relates to the bullets fired by Officer Hankinson that entered other people’s apartments through the walls…
[Kentucky AG Daniel] Cameron was asked whether there would be any more charges relating to the case, and he confirmed that there would be no more charges, including murder or manslaughter. “I think it’s unlikely there will be any additional prosecutions that come from that incident itself,” he said. He added that six classes of homicide charges were not justified as Officers Mattingly and Cosgrove were justified in their use of force.
During the press conference, Cameron, who is black, condemned celebrities and influencers who did not live in Kentucky for commenting on the case, who may stir up trouble and spark off riots in the city of Louisville. He also said that he speaks for the entire department, noting his identity as a black man.
Dorsey did not take too kindly to this, to say the least. “I find all of his remarks with regards to this whole entire press conference offensive,” Dorsey argued:
Let me just speak to this whole celebrity influencer thing, where they can’t speak for Kentuckians. Let me say this as a black woman, he does not speak for black folks. He is skinfolk, but he is not kinfolk. So just like he thinks they cannot speak for Kentucky, because he is up there with a black face, he does not speak for all of us. This was not a tragedy, this was a murder. He should be ashamed of himself.

National File reported that protestors were seen unloading riot shields from a U-Haul truck after the press conference this afternoon, seemingly in preparation for violence in Louisville.
