Conservative Virginia State Senator Amanda Chase has announced that she’ll introduce the SAFE Act to ban the genital mutilation of children through so-called gender reassignment surgeries, telling National File that she’s taking on “woke” doctors and the radical left to protect kids from irreversible, life-threatening harm.
State Senator Amanda Chase (R-11) recently announced her plans to file the Save Adolescents From Experimentation (SAFE) Act in the Virginia State Senate, legislation that protects kids from genital mutilating trans surgeries and sterilizing hormones. Thus far, 21 states have enacted or are considering SAFE Act legislation to ban and criminalize the performance of trans “treatments” and procedures on children.
While Democrats have staunchly opposed pro-life and pro-medical freedom legislation in the State Senate, the only branch of the state’s government they still control, “common sense” sense says the SAFE Act should receive bipartisan support, Chase told National File.
“I would hope so, we’re talking about mutilating children here and permanently sterilizing minors. We’re talking about minors,” Senator Chase said.
“I know [Democrat Senators] Chap Peterson and Joe Morrisey. I’ll be having those conversations with them,” Chase told National File. “Just about how ludicrous this is and how permanently damaging it is to kids,” she said after mentioning two Senate Democrats who’ve sided with Republicans on some issues in the recent past.
“I think there should be a lot of bipartisan support for that and I believe that if it got to Governor Youngkin’s desk he’d sign it.”
At the core of the SAFE Act is the idea of “protecting our kids from being abused by woke doctors,” and other predators within the trans lobby, Senator Chase told National File. “That’s really what this comes down to.”
“Minors who still believe in the Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus should not be able to make permanent, life-altering medical decisions,” Chase said, adding that the genital mutilation of children is “going to be banned” in Virginia.
To those who ask “what if both parents support this?” Chase says, “commit both parents.”
“If you look at the kids who get these surgeries, 40% of them go on to attempt or commit suicide,” said Chase, highlighting the fatal tragedy of childhood transgenderism ignored by its political proponents.
In drafting the SAFE Act in Virginia, Chase says she’s communicating with the legislation’s original Arkansas sponsor, where the SAFE Act was first made law in 2021.
There, the conservative state legislature overrode a veto from GOP establishment Governor Asa Hutchinson that sought to block the pro-child legislation introduced by State Rep. Robin Lundstrum.
In Virginia, Chase tells National File that promoting transgenderism in children is a massive statewide issue, that requires immediate action to protect kids. In large part, Chase says, it’s emanating from public schools, where pro-trans and other sexualized materials are being peddled to kids as early as kindergarten.

“The seeds are being planted earlier and earlier,” Senator Chase told National File.
“Parents, good parents, have no idea what their kids are being taught in the public schools regarding transgenderism,” Chase said. “As early as K through 5.”
“Even in conservative areas, because of the laws the General Assembly has passed, you need to go through your children’s books and libraries.”
And in a post-COVID world, Senator Chase says, “so much of school is on a Chromebook now, that you can’t even look through your children’s books. They’re sneaking it into the curriculum.”
Even worse, school teachers, counselors, and administrators are validating the trans agenda to kids and freezing their parents out.
“It’s ridiculous what we’re seeing in our schools,” Chase told National File.
Contrary to Chase and the conservative movement’s fight for the safety and innocence of children, Virginia Democrats vehemently support the trans lobby’s radical agenda.
At a recent campaign stop in the 7th Congressional District, Democrat Rep. Abigail Spanberger jumped in a car and fled from National File rather than explain her and her party’s staunch support for the genital mutilation of children.
Also at the campaign event was Rep. Jason Crow (CO-6) who, like Spanberger, fled to a car and left to avoid the question while leaving a small crowd of voters hanging.
