Images of a local Kenosha used car dealership being torched by looters, following the police shooting of a black man as an arrest warrant was served, circulated on social media as one church marquee supporting Black Lives Matter stood above the flames as they engulfed the vehicles.
Several bits of footage showing the extent of the burning went viral on social media after the Wisconsin town endured a night of protests, riots, and looting after Jacob Blake was left in critical condition after being shot at seven times from close range as he tried to get away from arresting officers.
One clip from a live stream shows looters walk among cars with smashed windows at the Car Source dealership. Some looters laugh at the situation and joke about claiming the titles of the cars to bring them into their possession.

Later on in the evening, many cars were set aflame as a trail of destruction was left behind by rioters voicing their discontent at the police shooting earlier in the day.

Creeping flames threaten the marquee, while the church was left unharmed as the fire was extinguished before reaching the building.
Protesters are still out and about in Kenosha Wisconsin. Reports say that looting has begun. Unofficial reports say that #JacobBlake is still alive and may be in stable condition (unconfirmed). #jacobblake #justiceforjacobblake pic.twitter.com/hrACBOL7zm

Other reports indicate that three garbage trucks were burned, several businesses had their windows smashed, and a cop was reportedly smashed in the head with a brick as multiple cities have been rocked by civil unrest since George Floyd’s in-custody death in late May.
In a press release, Governor Tony Evers said:
“Tonight, Jacob Blake was shot in the back multiple times, in broad daylight, in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Kathy and I join his family, friends, and neighbors in hoping earnestly that he will not succumb to his injuries. While we do not have all of the details yet, what we know for certain is that he is not the first Black man or person to have been shot or injured or mercilessly killed at the hands of individuals in law enforcement in our state or our country.”
Several looters have livestreamed their illegal activities to social media in an effort to gain cloud and find humor in their wanton destruction.
During the recent Chicago disturbances, a young man, who livestreamed himself destroying an ATM with a hammer, was arrested and charged after being swiftly identified for his antics on social media.
