A man purporting to be a Ukrainian military field surgeon claimed in an online video that he is harvesting the organs and eyes of wounded Russian soldiers, prompting Russia to launch an investigation. The video marks just the latest time that claims of organ harvesting and other war crimes committed by Ukrainian forces have gone viral.
The purported Ukrainian field surgeon, who says his name is Vladimir Vasilievich, made the statements in a recorded video conversation with a Russian he met online, bragging about the harvesting of “Rashist” (Ukrainian pejorative for “Russian fascist”) organs and eyes, which he says customers in Germany pay big money for.
“I know you may be recording because you’re a Rashist blogger,” the Ukrainian says in the video, adding that he’s “very glad” to have encountered a Russian online.
“Mostly I cut off the legs and arms of your pigs – and eyes,” he said. “You know how much German grandmothers pay for eye sockets?” he asked.
“I have 2 days of vacation, I’m at my home,” he said before further detailing his purported war crimes.
“I cut out from your 27-year-old animals, cut out the eyes, cut out the kidneys and liver.”
“I tell you more,” he added. “If [a wounded Russian soldier is] coming to me, brought to me and he’s missing a leg, for me he’s a corpse already. My bosses almost always tell me, ‘Can you at least give him a bit of painkillers so they don’t suffer so much?’ I say, ‘Of course, I will do it,’ but I don’t do this.”
“I cut their eyes out of these *** animals, and I enjoy it,” boasted the Ukrainian.

The video clip has resulted in Russia launching an official probe into the claims of the Ukrainian “field surgeon,” and marks just the latest instance of Ukrainian war crime claims going viral online. In other instances, claims and reports have emerged that the Ukrainians are castrating young Russian soldiers who fall into their captivity.
As previously reported by National File, in a TV news interview earlier this year, a Russian military officer claimed that Russian forces have discovered child organ harvesting facilities being operated by the Ukrainians, where children are treated “like discarded waste.”
The Russian officer was visibly emotional during the interview.
“They had took organs [from the children],” the Russian officer explained.
“I couldn’t believe it,” he said. “Until seeing all this with one’s own eyes, one cannot comprehend it.”
“But when you see it, you won’t forgive.”
