An elected Democrat was cited after allegedly striking a photographer with a sign during a pro-mask demonstration in Bucks County, PA. A video of the incident appears to show Cynthia Jones, who serves as a New Britain Township Supervisor, striking a woman on the head with a “Masks Save Lives” sign. The incident took place during a July 27 demonstration in support of a mask mandate for the Central Bucks school district.
The video was captured by the Bucks Co News Feed and amplified by the Reopen Bucks County group. It appears to show Jones standing in front of two women, one of which is a photographer, in an attempt to block her from taking photos of the event. When the photographer, identified as Megan Brock, moved forward, Jones appears to hit her over the head with the “Masks Save Lives” sign from behind. “This woman just hit me, she just hit me on the head!” the Brock can be heard shouting.

Bucks County resident Jamie Walker witnessed the assault. “She came up behind her and hit her over the head with the sign, I saw the whole thing,” Walker told National File. Walker can be seen towards the bottom left hand of the frame, standing next to the photographer. Walker is one of the women Jones attempted to block.
In the days following the incident, an unidentified group or individual posted a bizarre video containing social media posts from Brock. The video contained social media posts along with a clip of Brock yelling at Jones. The clip starts just after Brock had been hit with the sign and insinuates that she was randomly yelling at Jones. “When she isn’t defying the Governor’s orders…. Megan Brock is: An anti-masker, self proclaimed ‘Trump Chump’, loves to doxx people and businesses,” proclaims text in the video.

A week after the incident, Cynthia Jones was issued a citation and fined $100 for simple harassment. The office of Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub advised that a harassment charge against Jones would be warranted. The board ultimately voted 5-3 in favor of keeping masks optional.
