In a video clip that went viral on social media, a police officer revealed that a “Defund The Police” protest organized by left-wing activists reached out to his precinct to request a police presence at the event, to keep the anti-police protesters safe.
The officer, who appears to have removed identifying insignia from his uniform to prevent being doxxed, sits in his car and mirthfully explains the situation in the viral video.
“So I come in this morning and we’re informed there’s gonna be a protest to ‘defund the police,'” the officer says, using air quotes.
“Well that’s fine. I like protests… except for, they requested a police presence, you know, for their safety. At the ‘defund the police’ event,” the officer continues, barely able to hold back his laughter at the irony of the situation.
“I sh*t you not,” the officer concludes.
The video quickly went viral on Twitter, and can be seen below.

In a similar incident, a Black Lives Matter protester attacked an elderly man at a counter-protest to protect historical statues, and fled to police, demanding protection, after being chased by a group of senior citizens:
An interesting scene unfolded earlier this week at what is reportedly Lafayette Park in Washington, D.C., where hundreds of vandals arrived with plans to destroy the statue of President Andrew Jackson.
In one video, a vandal can be seen running through a group of senior citizen counter-protesters who showed up to defend the monument, shoving and pulling one man to the ground.
The assailant then turns tail and runs away, chased by the group of senior citizens, including one man using a cane. One counter protester closes the distance and shoves the BLM activist, who momentarily assumes a fighting stance before fleeing into a group of fellow activists and hiding behind a police officer.
From his new protected position, the assailant screams at one of the counter-protesters, “You gonna hurt me? You gonna hurt me? Huh!”
“Get the f**k out of here,” a counter protester yells.
As more police officers arrive on the scene and the assailant starts talking to them and gesturing towards the counter-protesters, a man yells, “Oh, now you want the cops, huh? Now you want the cops, huh? Now you want the cops.”
Incidents of Black Lives Matter protesters begging for the police after being confronted by citizens continue to spike amongst nationwide “Defund the Police” protests.
