Far-left CNN anchor Don Lemon was thoroughly wrecked on live tv when he told a British CNN guest that the royal family should be paying reparations to blacks for slavery and the supposed ills of British colonialism in previous centuries. As guest Hilary Fordwich told Lemon, not only did the British and associated Anglo peoples lead the world in abolishing slavery, but many of them died to do so. African slaves were captured and then sold to Europeans by their fellow Africans, Fordwich reminded the CNN host, suggesting that the descendants of African slave-trading warlords should actually be the ones paying reparations – including to the descendants of whites who died trying to put an end to slavery.
Following the death of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, left-wing talking heads and militant Marxists have trotted back out their reparations narratives, this time though, instead of focusing on the US, they’re taking on England and their former empire. During a recent segment of Don Lemon’s CNN program, he was joined by guest Hilary Fordwich, a native Brit herself who has served as a “royal watcher” for several American TV news networks. When Lemon tried to pose a lecturing question about the need for black people to be “paid back” by the royal family, he bit off more than he could chew, and got a quick dose of reality, with a history lesson to boot.
“You have those who are asking for reparations for colonialism and they’re wondering, you know, $100 billion, $24 billion here and there, $500 million there. Some people want to be paid back and members of the public are wondering ‘why are we suffering when you are, you know, you have all of this vast wealth.’ Those are legitimate concerns,” Lemon said to Fordwich, who responded accordingly.
“Well, I think you’re right about reparations in terms of if people want it,” Fordwich said. “Though, what they need to do is you always need to go back to the beginning of a supply chain. Where was the beginning of the supply chain? That was in Africa.”
“Across the entire world when slavery was taking place, which was the first nation in the world to abolish slavery?” Fordwich asked Lemon.
“[…]It was the British,” she said, answering her own question as Lemon sat speechlessly, his face pursed.
“2,000 [British] naval men died on the high seas trying to stop slavery,” Fordwich said, noting the 19th-century military efforts by the UK and the US alike that sought to blockade the African slave trade.
“Why? Because the African kings were rounding up their own people. They had them in cages waiting on the beaches. No one was running into Africa to get them,” said Fordwich.
“And I think you’re totally right, if reparations need to be paid, we need to go right back to the beginning of that supply chain and say who was rounding up their own people?”
“And maybe, I don’t know, the descendants of those families, where they died in the high seas trying to stop the slavery, those families should receive something too I think.”

Though the thorough drumming of Don Lemon by guest Hilary Fordwich came during an airing of his prime-time “Don Lemon Tonight” broadcast, CNN recently announced that Lemon, who has struggled to attract and maintain viewers, is being demoted. Amidst dismal ratings, \Lemon’s show will be discontinued, and he will join Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins as a new morning show co-anchor.

Like Don Lemon and CNN, hyper-racialized leftists have fixated on the British royal family following the recent passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
In London, Black Lives Matter demonstrators were joined by far-left Labour Party MPs as they marched against white people being sad about the queen’s death. By mourning their queen, the native-born Brits weren’t paying enough attention to the death of a violent felon at the hands of the city’s police, the demonstrators claimed.
