Bodycam footage has been released from one of the Atlanta Police Department arresting officers in another high profile police killing of a black man–prompting rioters to burn down the Wendy’s franchise outside of which the fatal shooting took place.
Rayshard Brooks, 27, was fatally shot by Atlanta police after resisting arrest, grabbing a police taser, before running, and attempting to discharge the taser at the arresting officers.
The fatal shooting triggered activists to destroy the Wendy’s franchise as the media attempted to spin the events leading to a tragic end.
The Daily Mail reported how Brooks was talking politely with police after surveillance footage showed the suspected run and point the taser at the arresting officers.

In the bodycam footage, Brooks appears to slur his words and fail to recall what alcoholic beverages he had drunk before the officer had enough and placed the drunk man under arrest.
As the officer tried to cuff Brooks, the bodycam footage depicts a violent struggle before Brooks bolts.

Another clip from the dashboard captures the full extent of the struggle between the arresting officers and Brooks.
Both officers wrestle Brooks on the ground in an attempt to subdue the DUI suspect, but Brooks manages to wrest a taser from one of the officers and fires it at the police. The police command Brooks to “stop fighting,” but as Brooks runs away, one of the officers opens fire at the fleeing suspect.
Here’s the full video. Cops were polite, reasonable. Brooks assaulted them, stole a taser, shot the taser at them multiple times, and finally was killed. If you’re trying to make these cops into racist killers, you’re just a dishonest person.

Officer Garrett Rolfe was fired following the fatal shooting and Devin Brosnan was placed on administrative leave.
The Atlanta Police Chief Erika Shields left the force a day after the fatal shooting at a time where the George Floyd riots and international Black Lives Matter protests have shone a light at in-custody killings of black suspects and police brutality.
The Minneapolis Police Department is set to disband and be replaced by a “community-led public safety system” due to the ramifications of the George Floyd killing, which saw the suspected fraudster die after the arresting officer placed his knee on his neck for nearly nine minutes.
