Parler CEO John Matze appeared on Fox News to discuss the severity of the big tech crackdown currently being aimed at Parler, as virtually all of the company’s vendors, and their lawyer, sever ties with the company after attacks from Google and Apple.
“They all worked together to make sure at the same time we would lose access to, not only our apps, but they’re also shutting all of our servers off tonight, off the Internet,” said Matze. “They made an attempt to not only kill the apps, but also destroy the entire company. And it’s not just these three companies, every vendor from text message services, to email providers, to our lawyers, all ditched us, too, on the same day.”

Matze continued to elaborate on the difficulty of the task ahead, noting that while he and his team will try to get Parler “back online as quickly as possible,” they are running into repeated stonewalls as companies refuse to do business with them. “If Apple doesn’t approve and if Google doesn’t approve, you know, they won’t.”

“Amazon is the largest cloud storage vendor int he world, and we use them to host our servers, you know, hundreds of servers.” Matze continued, “Basically, they said ‘You have 24 hours to get all your data, and to find new servers.'”

“So where are you going to find 300-500 servers in a 24 hour window, and how can you send all of the data from everybody out to them in a 24 hour period?” He explained, “It’s an impossible feat, we’re going to handle it as best we can, to get back online as quickly as possible, but, you know, there are just some things that are basically impossible.”
Parler is currently scheduled to go dark for an indeterminate amount of time when Amazon shuts down their servers at midnight tonight.
