Four people are dead after a gunman, who has been described by law enforcement as a black male, opened fire inside a Tulsa, Oklahoma medical clinic. The gunman reportedly killed himself after the killing spree.
The Tulsa Police Department said officers responded to the Natalie Medical Building around 5:50 p.m. to reports of an active shooter, authorities said. The suspect, who remains unidentified, was armed with a rifle and handgun.
Officers responded to the building’s second floor where they found multiple victims, as well as the gunman, who was deceased. The Natalie Medical Building is primarily used for sports medicine and orthopedic surgery, according to Fox News.
Initial reports claimed that “multiple people” have been confirmed dead with the death toll now standing at four. An additional number of people were injured and their condition is unknown as of this time.
According to Tulsa deputy police chief Eric Dalgleish, responding officers heard gunshots upon arrival, which is what led them to the second floor.
Tulsa police described the gunman as a black male between the ages of 35 and 40. Police said the suspect was armed with a rifle, a long gun and a handgun, all of which were used in the rampage.

Tulsa Police Captain Richard Meulenberg told reporters outside the building that it was “a catastrophic scene in there right now” as officers worked in the aftermath of the shooting, according to The New York Times.
Officials are urging locals to avoid the area as of this time.
Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt reacted to the massacre in a statement.
“What happened today in Tulsa is a senseless act of violence and hatred. Sarah and I are praying for the families of those who lost their lives and for those who were injured. I am grateful for the quick and brave actions of the Tulsa Police Department and other first responders who did their best to contain a terrible situation,” Stitt said.
I have offered Mayor G.T. Bynum any state resources that may be needed, and I ask all Oklahomans to come together in support of the Saint Francis Health System community and to grieve with those whose lives have been forever changed,” the governor continued.
The massacre took place on the anniversary of the “Tulsa Race Massacre”, which has become a point of focus for anti-white media outlets and politicians in recent years. It remains to be seen whether the event played a role in Wednesday’s shooting.
