Still reeling from the push-back they received for overtly censoring posts critical of the information found on Hunter Biden’s laptop implicating his father in an influencing scheme in Ukraine, Twitter seemingly doubled down by censoring the White House’s COVID-19 adviser.
Dr. Scott Atlas, top White House coronavirus adviser, had a tweet questioning the effectiveness of masks removed by the censors at Twitter.
Atlas’ offending tweet read, “Masks work? NO.” This tweet preceded several other tweet exampling locations where mask use is tantamount to mandated yet coronavirus cases are spiking.
Several locations that have mandates in place but are experiencing spikes include Los Angeles, Miami, Hawaii, and Alabama nationally, and France, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Israel internationally.
In one of the subsequent tweets Atlas said, “[U]se masks for their intended purpose – when close to others, especially hi risk. Otherwise, social distance. No widespread mandates. #CommonSense.”

In response to media queries about their removal of Atlas’ tweet, Twitter said the tweet “was in violation of our COVID-19 Misleading Information Policy” that “prohibits sharing false or misleading content related to COVID-19 which could lead to harm.”
Last September, a YouTube video of Atlas examining the need for universal social distancing measures was censored from the platform for violating community standards. Atlas had filmed an in-depth interview with the Hoover Institution where he discussed the effectiveness of herd immunity. The interview has since been restored.
Twitter, as well as other popular social media platforms, is under intense scrutiny following their overt censorship of the New York Post article that exposed information found on Hunter Biden’s laptop that implicated his then-Vice President father in an influence scheme in Ukraine.
The Senate Judiciary Committee has issued subpoenas for Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter, and Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s CEO, to testify about their actions.
