45th President Trump’s interview with Tucker Carlson has garnered over 150 million views since its Wednesday night debut, when it aired head-to-head with the GOP Primary Debate hosted by Fox News which, for comparison, was viewed by less than 30 million people.
President Trump’s interview with Tucker Carlson premiered on X (Twitter) and ran at the same that the GOP’s first 2024 Presidential Primary Debate aired live on Fox News. While an estimated 23.9 million people tuned into Fox News to watch candidates like Chris Christie, Asa Hutchinson, and Ron DeSantis debate amongst themselves, minus the leading candidate in the race (Trump), the Trump-Tucker interview raked in a whopping 74 million viewers during the same frame of time.
Because the Trump-Tucker interview aired online and was not constrained by cable news and television contracts, the interview’s viewership more than doubled overnight.
As of roughly 7:00 AM on Thursday morning, the Trump-Tucker interview has raked in over 150 million views.
At the opening of the interview, Tucker Carlson teased about the fact that he and President Trump were taking on the entire GOP field, saying “It’s debate night, but we’re not in Milwaukee.”
While members of the GOP field have criticized Trump for not participating in the debate, the 45th President made the reason for his absence very clear during his interview with Tucker Carlson, telling the longtime newsman that he doesn’t believe he should be debating people who are 40 to 50 points behind him in the polls – especially considering the debate was hosted by Fox News, a never Trump network that’s openly supported Ron DeSantis and fired Tucker Carlson for his anti-establishment reporting.
“Do I sit there for an hour or two hours, whatever it’s going to be, and get harassed by people who shouldn’t even be running for President?” Trump asked Carlson. “I just felt it would be more appropriate not to do the debate,” said Trump.

Adding another layer to President Trump’s crushing defeat of the entire GOP field on debate night is the aspect that Trump is set to surrender to left-wing “law enforcement” in Fulton County, Georgia on Thursday, the morning after the debate, in connection with the 2020 Presidential Election.
Despite the best efforts of the deep state and its political actors to throw President Trump in prison for questioning the claimed results of an illegal election, the persecution effort has only emboldened the 45th President’s supporters and has acted as a major campaign booster, with Trump’s poll numbers increasing each time a new indictment is announced.
