With the election just weeks away, President Trump is urging Attorney General William Barr to expedite the launch of an investigation into the information found on Hunter Biden’s laptop.
In an interview Tuesday morning, the President urged the Attorney General to “act fast” on pursuing claims that information found on Hunter Biden’s laptop – which in part has been corroborated – implicates Democrat presidential Joe Biden in an influence peddling scheme during his time as Vice President of the United States.
“We have got to get the attorney general to act. He’s got to act, and he’s got to act fast,” Trump said to reporters Tuesday, referring to a New York Post bombshell report about Hunter Biden’s business dealings in Ukraine and China. “He’s gotta appoint somebody,” the President continued. “This is major corruption, and this has to be known about before the election.”
The emails found on the younger Biden’s laptop, reveal that he may have arranged a meeting between his then-Vice President father and a Ukrainian oligarch who held stake in the Burisma energy company; a company whose board included Hunter Biden.
The Biden campaign and Hunter Biden’s lawyer both deny the allegations although neither Biden, nor his son, have publicly made any statements regarding the laptop information.

House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA), who continues to hold to his “Russian collusion” narrative despite it being debunked as a Hillary Clinton-crafted election year scheme to deflect from her email scandal, insists the new Biden revelations are the work of “the Kremlin.”
The Director of National Intelligence, John Ratcliffe, on Monday, announced that after examining the laptop evidence “Hunter Biden’s laptop is not part of some Russian disinformation campaign.”
There has been no comment issued from the Attorney General’s office on the matter.
