Ron DeSantis’ Twitter Space was marred by technical difficulties causing the event to start late. Once it began, DeSantis read from a script sounding like a GOP establishment candidate. DeSantis concluded his opening remarks by asking for money. The Q and A part of the event only featured questions from DeSantis supporters who were journalists. Trump released a video during the event in which he called DeSantis an imposter.
Technical difficulties caused by Elon Musk’s account forced the DeSantis Twitter Space to start almost 20 minutes late. Once it began, DeSantis read from a script that a Paul Ryan disciple clearly wrote. DeSantis wrapped up his opening remarks by begging for money.
During the Q and A portion, only journalists who supported DeSantis were called on. A radio host by the name of Steve Deace attacked Trump’s brand, yet tweets reveal that Mr. Deace charges $500 per person to attend a dinner with him.

During DeSantis’ Twitter Space, Trump released an ad highlighting the fact that Washington establishment politicians, like Ron DeSantis, love to talk about how they can be like Donald Trump, but in reality, it was Trump who delivered on tax cuts and saved Americans’ jobs. The video ends by asking voters, “Why settle for a Trump imposter?”
Following the DeSantis event, Trump posted on TruthSocial, “Wow! The DeSanctus TWITTER launch is a DISASTER! His whole campaign will be a disaster. WATCH!”
Trump also said Tim Scott’s launch was more entertaining, writing, “Tim Scott’s Presidential launch, even with the broken microphone (don’t pay the contractor, Tim!), was by far the best Presidential launch of the week. Robs was a catastrophe!”
Stew Peters criticized DeSantis’ launch as boring. Peters also attacked the Florida Governor for not being as anti-Covid mandate as he claimed to be.

NationalFile reported that DeSantis canceled his first rally in his hometown in Florida. However, DeSantis’ donor retreat at the Four Seasons in Miami, where rooms start at around $700 a night, is still scheduled as planned. The retreat runs from Wednesday to Sunday.
