Former President Donald Trump issued a call for a new election in Arizona following widespread reports of voting machines breaking in Republican areas.
Trump called the Arizona election “tainted” and “a scam,” adding, “They stole the Electron from Blake Masters. Do Election over again!”
“So in Maricopa County they’re at it again. Voting Machines in large numbers didn’t work, but only in Republican districts. People were forced to wait for hours, then got exhausted or had other things to do and left the voting lines by the thousands. Even Kari Lake was taken to a Liberal Democrat district in order to vote. Others weren’t so lucky. This is a scam and voter fraud, no different than stuffing the ballot boxes. They stole the Electron from Blake Masters. Do Election over again!” Trump posted on Truth Social, his social media platform.
“Idiot, and possibly corrupt, officials have lost control of the tainted Election in Arizona. MACHINES BROKEN IN REPUBLICAN AREAS. A NEW ELECTION MUST BE CALLED FOR IMMEDIATELY!” Trump added in an additional post.
National File previously reported on the alarm raised over Arizona election integrity:
Election officials in Maricopa County released an update on the “printer issue” that caused multiple vote tabulators to malfunction on Election Day. One poll worker in the state’s largest county said that “nothing was working” and that voters should submit their ballots to be “counted downtown later tonight.” In total, the issue affected roughly 17,000 ballots, authorities said.
