In a post published on Truth Social on Tuesday afternoon, former President, Donald Trump, lauded his endorsement record, which stands at a 93% endorsement victory rate in the 2022 Midterm Congressional Election.
“While in certain ways yesterday’s election was somewhat disappointing, from my personal standpoint it was a very big victory – 219 WINS and 16 Losses in the General – Who has ever done better than that?” Trump posted on Tuesday via Truth Social.
On the other hand, the newly re-elected Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, has a batting average of .431 with his endorsements. However, like Trump, some of the politicians endorsed by Trump have not had their races called. This currently includes Kari Lake and Blake Masters of Arizona, and Adam Laxalt of Nevada.
Five days before Tuesday’s election, DeSantis revealed the candidates he endorsed, a list which included:
- Marco Rubio (R-FL) Win
- Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R-AR) Win
- Ron Johnson R-WI) Win
- Kevin Stitt (R-OK) Win
- JD Vance (R-OH) Win
- Lee Zeldin (R-NY) Loss
- Don Bolduc (R-NH) Loss
- Paul LePage (R-MN) Loss
- Mark RonchettI (R-NM) Loss
- Tony Michels (R-WI) Loss
- Doug Mastriano (R-PA) Loss
- Derek Schmidt (R-NM) Loss
- Adam Laxalt (R-NV) TBD
- Kari Lake and Blake Masters (R-AZ) TBD
Pro GOP-establishment groups and media outlets, in an effort to polish the DeSantis shine, went to great effort to tout a bevy of late DeSantis endorsements.
Despite the fact that DeSantis seemed to play it safe with the short list of endorsements he gave, his endorsement win rate is less than half of Trump’s.
For his part, the former Vice President, Mike Pence, is currently batting .473, with his final win rate dependent upon the outcomes of the races ran by Adam Laxalt, Blake Masters, Scott Baugh, and David Baladao, all of whom are in electoral races which have yet to be called.
The only candidates who were endorsed by Trump, DeSantis, and Pence were Blake Masters and Adam Laxalt.
