Political legend Roger Stone laid into Ron DeSantis’ campaign wardrobe on Tuesday night. Stone’s sense of political fashion is one of the many attributes that made him a top political advisor to Presidents Trump, Reagan, and Nixon.
Laura Loomer pointed out that DeSantis changed his Wednesday afternoon Texas speech to a Wednesday morning Texas speech. National File reporter Charles Downs pointed out that the weather in Texas would allow for DeSantis to wear his signature vest in the morning, but the heat would be too unbearable for DeSantis to wear his vest in the afternoon.
Stone replied to Downs’ post, writing, “Better yet why does he wear the dopey vest with his logo on it. I can’t recall any president who ever wore anything like that #Dopey”

Stone views wardrobe as an integral part of political success. In his book Stone’s Rules, Roger writes, “Dressing habits early. The man who dresses for dinner every night of his life looks easy and natural in it.
Users on social media have mocked DeSantis’ horrific choice of outfits. When surveying hurricane damage, DeSantis wore ridiculous-looking white high-top boots with jeans and a vest.

DeSantis wears high shoes due to his height and it’s widely believed that Ron’s wife Casey is taller than him. That is why Ron never walks directly beside his wife at political events because if he did, it would be evident that Ron is wearing high heels to cover up the height difference.

Many believe DeSantis wears a vest because Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin wore a vest in 2021. Many of those on Team Youngkin are now on Team DeSantis. These people believe vest politics work, but in reality, Youngkin only won Virginia after Trump endorsed him and encouraged his supporters to vote in the 2021 off-year election.
It will be interesting to see what outfits Team DeSantis comes up with next.
